VALENTINE´S DAY

Origin of its name:	Its origin dates back to the century lll in honor of the priest San Valentin
Day it is celebrated:	Valentine´s day is celebrated on 14 of February.
Activities that the people does this day:	1.     The couples usually goes to the cinema. 2.    Write love letter 3.    Have an indoor picnic 4.    The people usually gives letters to their friends 5.    Is very usually that the person’s gives gifts. 6.    For many people it is ideal to ask for marriage on this day, or to get married 7.    Many people prefers to stay at home with their couple watching movies. 8.    Other people go with their friends to the amusement park
Historical background	1.     It was Pope Gelasio I in 494 who designated February 14 as the official Valentine's Day 2.    A priest named Valentin who practiced in Rome around the 3rd century was the character who inspired this tradition. 3.    Today, this is one of the best-known saints in the world. In addition, this is one of the festivities of the Catholic Church that has been most marketed. 4.    In Egypt, the Valentine´s day is celebrated on four of November. 5.    In Japan, the women’s are who gives a chocolats. 6.    In this day, the prices increase like a chocolats or roses.
Opinion	In my opinion, it is the cutest celebration, since people are at peace and receive love from their loved ones. In the day love and friendship, it is not necessary to have a boyfriend or girlfriend, I don't know because most people are sad on that day when they can have fun with their friends

         Saint Patrick's Day

Origin of its name:	Maewyn succat was his original name, he was named St. Patrick when he became a priest
Day it is celebrated:	This “Feast Day” always take place on the anniversary of Patrick’s death, which was believed to be March 17.
Activities that the people does this day:	1.     organize special parties for that day 2.    they need to wear green clothes 3.    some people light their streets green 4.    Listen to Irish poetry 5.    Give to green cause 6.    Bake something green 7.Make a St. Patrick’s Day craft
Historical background	1.     This celebration is more religious in nature, as it is considered a religious feast day, while it was made an official holiday in 1903, the first saint Patrick’s festival was held in 1996. 2.    During these recent years, the even has become more cultural and consists of many celebrations in the streets. 3.    Saint Patrick’s day was first celebrated in American in 1737
Opinion	In my opinion about this celebration is that I think that it´s a funny celebration and have an interesting history, and include isn’t from Ireland.

Day of the dead

Origin of its name:	The origin of this name dates back to pre-Hispanic times. Many of the Mexican ethnic groups worshiped death. Like to Mexicas to the gods Mictecacihuatl and Mictlantechtli "place of the dead"
Day it is celebrated:	Day of the dead is celebrated from October 28 to November 02.
Activities that the people does this day:	·         The people goes to cemetery with all their family for visit to their loved ones who are dead, decorate and fix their graves. ·         In their home the people puts a offering in this place fruit, bread, food, drinks especially the things that dead people liked. ·         A great parade takes place in the zocalo of Mexico City. ·         The family gets and make a bread together ·         A great parade of the flowers ·         There is a great display or alebrijes.
Historical background	This tradition reaches Mexico through the Spanish, that forged a unique character, colorful, and that preserved the ancient memories. I think that this is a celebration characteristic of Mexico, since not is celebrated in other place. I like this day of this celebration, since my family is together and sometimes go to Hidalgo, and how my grandparents are dead, my family and I go to vested their graves, and remember the moments that I live with my grandparents. I don´t have much loved ones that already dead, so if my family don´t goes to Hidalgo I only stay at home or go to the my sister´s house.
Opinion	In my opinion, this is one of my favorite celebrations as the tradition in Mexico is to order sweets in shops and disguise yourself as a scary character.

CHRISTMAS

Origin of its name:	Christmas comes from the Latin ´nativitas´which means birth, since on December 25 the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem is commemorated.
Day it is celebrated:	Christmas is celebrated on December 25 every year.
Activities that the people does this day:	1.     In this day the people meets whit their family or friends, for dinner and to converse whit people that you didn´t see from a long time. 2.    The people usually gives thing to people that needs this, like a toys for children, clother or food. 3.    The members of the family or friends often gives gifts ones to others. 4.    The people usually dances with their couple to the light of the Christmas tree. 5.    Too the people sings Christmas carols, like "silent night" or "Rodolfo the reindeer" 6.    In this day or days before, the people puts a tree inside of their house and every members of the family hangs decorations and put lights around of tree.
Historical background	1.     It is the pagan origin and celebrated the winter solstice, but in the 3rd century AD was adopted by the Catholic Church, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ Belen, it was the most important feast of the Christian ecclesiastic year. 2.    Christmas is a Christian holiday, being considered one of the most important festivities of this religion due to its great tradition. It is usually celebrated on December 25, although in some religions such as some orthodox aspects it is celebrated on 7 January
Opinion	In my opinion, it is the celebration more pretty, since in this they the people meets, and how the song say is a silent night. I haves a good memories, since in this day a can see to persons that I can’t see all the time, like a some cousins that are very important for me.

Burning man

Origin of its name:	Is loved and peace
Day it is celebrated:	29 August to 5 September
Activities that the people does this day:	·         a wooden structure in the shape of a man more than 12 meters high is burned. ·         - firework ·         -participate in different artistic activities ·         - men compete to see who spends the most money to entertain their guests ·         - create art and music ·         - burning of a wooden human figure 22 meters high
Historical background	event started in 1986 on the beaches of san Francisco by the summer solstice it is a festival where everything in peace no matter your indifferences the bad thing in that it is very expensive and not everyone can have fun as it is, there are dances and big contests although it is something a strange holiday because in the end they burn a figure of a persons it is supposed  to them because man is the one who makes sure there is no peace of mind in the world because everyone compotes and no one does teamwork as it should be

NEW YEAR

Origin of its name:	the last day of the year you perceive the last hours to receive a new day ( new year)
Day it is celebrated:	31 of  December
Activities that the people does this day:	·         the people go out to buy products foot their dines ·          the people go out to buy clothes ·         The family gives the family hungs ·         The family asks for 12 wishes ·         The family sing and dance ·         The family thanks God ·         At 12 o´clock, the people wish happy New Year and they hug each other, and the people eat 12 grapes. ·         At 12 o´clock, the couples kiss under a mistletoe. ·         The people celebrates drinking, dancing and dinging. and the people have a purposes.
Historical background	It is a very nice day you live with your whole family having more and more memories eat a lot throughout the night, make a fire to dance and sing, have resolutions to achieve in the year. the most important one more year of life where you remember the good and bad moments, learning mistakes and forgiving the people that hurt you start a year with new energy and plans, surrounded by people you’d like to have forever, toasting to your achievements of the year, eating too many sweets and a glass of tequila to relax the body and wake up in a good mood to go out to celebrate the new year.
Opinion	I really like this celebration, since on this day my whole family is together, and at this at most, especially the food

THANKSGIVING DAY

Origin of its name:	This celebration originated in United States, originates due to the encounter the first English colonizers with the native Americans and how they share a fertile and fertilized land.
Day it is celebrated:	Thanksgiving day is celebrated on 26 of November in United States and Canada
Activities that the people does this day:	1.     Host or attend a thanksgiving meal 2.    Plan a destination vocation and make it a thanksgiving tradition 3.    Make a thankful tree for thanksgiving 4.    Visit a local farm 5.    Go for a walk after thanksgiving meal 6.    The people cooking turkey as a principal saucers, and is placed in the center of the table. 7.    The people express their gratitude and they does charitable activities. 8.    The people usually sees American soccer.
Historical background	1.     This celebration began to be officially celebrated in 1863 at the iniciative of president Abraham Lincoln, to give thanks for the first abundant harvest of the English colonists who settled in North America
Opinion	My opinion about this celebration is that I think that it’s a gratefully activities and celebration in this country, because the food is an important source and here the people share and they meet whit their family and homeless people.
